Do We Offer Direct Billing?
Yes, we offer direct billing! That means you will only be asked to pay what your insurance plan does not cover. We're all about making your life easy, so we'll take care of the paperwork for you and you'll have nothing to worry about.
That being said, if it's your preference to pay the full amount up front in order to collect credit card points or other rewards, you're welcome to do that and then the reimbursement will go to you. Bonus!
Direct billing is just one of many added conveniences at Chapel Hill Dental. However, as your insurance plan is a contract between you and your insurer, any service that is not covered by your dental plan will be your responsibility to pay.
How Do We Determine Our Fees?
We know that none of our patients enjoy discussing fees. It makes for an uncomfortable conversation and can lead to embarrassment if the fees are not within a patient's budget. But it is important to sort out the costs involved before any dental work gets started, because the only thing worse than discussing fees is not discussing fees!
Each year, the Ontario Dental Association publishes their Suggested Fee Guide to help dental offices around the province determine how much they should charge for each procedure. And while the suggested fees are indeed suggestions (they are not imposed upon us), many clinics including Chapel Hill Dental price their services in accordance with the Fee Guide. No more, and no less. By doing so, you can be sure that when you visit our office you are receiving a fair & competitive price for all services rendered.
Before starting any work, your dentist will present to you a financial summary of the proposed treatment. If more than one option is available to you, you will absolutely be presented with each one so you can make an informed decision. Any recommendations we make regarding your treatment will be strictly based on what is best for you.
What Are Our Accepted Methods of Payment?
In addition to all private insurances, Chapel Hill Dental accepts every major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB) as well as cash and debit. Unfortunately we don't take personal cheques at this time.
Why We Can't Offer Discounts
We are sometimes asked if we give discounts to patients who have no insurance. Unfortunately we can't do that. By law we're not permitted to have different tiers of pricing for patients with, and without, insurance. And in any case we'd rather keep a level playing field for everyone; it wouldn't be fair for some to pay more than others.
