Getting Your Teeth Pulled
A tooth extraction is a permanent solution, so it's important to carefully weigh the pros and cons of going ahead with the procedure. Before any decision is made, your dentist will present to you all the options that exist to treat your problem and will make a recommendation as to the preferred approach given your circumstances.
At Chapel Hill Dental we recognize that in some cases extracting a problem tooth is indeed the best option for you, whether it be for financial reasons or simply because the tooth is hopeless. We're an ethical office: our promise to you is that we won't recommend treatment for a tooth that is doomed from the get-go. If you're a non-patient looking for a second opinion prior to undergoing an extraction, contact us and we'll be happy to see you for an examination.
Does Our Office Extract Wisdom Teeth?
We sure do! If your wisdom teeth are causing you pain, extraction is almost always the best solution. Have you ever heard someone say: "Boy, I sure do miss my wisdom teeth"? Of course not! Wisdom teeth aren't visible and they don't serve any modern-day purpose.
In the event that your extraction presents complications, for example if the wisdom teeth can't erupt due to blockage from other teeth (we call them "impacted wisdom teeth") or if they are bumping up against your sinuses, we might want to refer you out to a specialist. For your own benefit, we rather put you in the hands of a specialist who has the tools and experience needed to perform a complex oral surgery.
